Are you looking for a handy NFC transponder for unlocking doors, logging in to an app, paying at a vending machine, or other identification purposes?

We offer high quality NFC key fobs with the very commonly used NTAG213 chip.

The NFC key fobs are available in multiple colors (blue, gray, black, green, red, orange, and yellow) and have a popular tear-shape housing measuring 40 x 32 x 4.5 mm.

The NFC NTAG213 chip (NFC Type 2) is made by the trusted chip manufacturer NXP Semiconductors and it is compatible with the ISO/IEC 14443-3A standard. It has a preprogrammed 7-byte long unique ID number and a storage capacity of 144 bytes of data.

They can be programmed with NFC mobile phones and free applications like NFC Tools and others. The stored information can be locked with a password, and when locked the chip cannot be preprogrammed by other unauthorized users.

INFO

NFC key fobs are basically NFC tags in the form of a keychain and are very convenient to carry around. They can unlock the doors, pay for a coffee at a vending machine, or can be used to identify users in various other NFC applications.

There is a large supply of similar NFC key fobs on the market, and although they all look the same, there can be very big difference in the quality and their operation.

Proximity chips NTAG213 are made by the trusted chip manufacturer NXP Semiconductors and are the most popular NFC Type 2 chips. They are compatible with the ISO/IEC 14443-3A standard, and they have a preprogrammed 7-byte long unique ID number and a storage capacity of 144 bytes of data which is equal to a 136 character-long URL address.

They can be programmed with a computer and NFC encoders or regular NFC mobile phones (Android and newer iPhones). To program NFC tags with a mobile phone you can use and free applications like NFC Tools, NXP TagWriter, and other NFC apps.

To program NFC tags with a computer you need an NFC encoder like the ACR1252U and a software like TagXplorer or GoToTags.

The programmed chip can be locked with a password, and the chip cannot be preprogrammed by other unauthorized users. The data retention time for these chips is 10 years.

The NFC key fob housing have a very common tear shape, made from plastic material (ABS) measuring 40 x 32 x 4.5 mm. They contain also a ring with which it can be attached to the keys or other accessory. The NFC key fobs are available in multiple colors (blue, gray, black, green, red, orange, and yellow).

By default, they do not contain the numeration or other printed elements, but if you need the customization, please let us know and we will send you an offer.

Options for customization (for pricing please send an inquiry)

Beside the key fobs from stock, you can order customized key fobs with a housing in different color or shape, we can print on key fobs your company logo, serial number, or chip ID code.

Since the chip ID code can be read in more than 50 different ways, we take extra care that we print the code in the proper format. Many NFC devices (including NFC phones and tablets) read the chip ID in 14-digit hexadecimal number (known as 14 HEX Reverse Byte format).

Reading test for NFC Key fobs with a chip NTAG213

We tested the NTAG213 key fobs with different kinds of readers and measured the reading distances. This is not an official test, and was made to inform you what reading distances you may expect with your application.

RFID / NFC reader Reading distance
ACR1252U-M2 3,5 cm
Syris RD200-M1 2 cm
SYRIS RD300-H1-G 2 cm

The reading distance between the key fob and the reader is affected by many different factors, like the size of the antennas and quality of the chips, the interferences of metal, and electromagnetic signals, etc.
