Dual frequency key fobs contain two widely used contactless chips and can be used to unlock the smart locks, pay for a coffee at a vending machine, and for various other applications.
The TK4100 RFID chip is a 125 kHz read-only chip that works like the EM4200 and his predecessors EM4100 and EM4102. It has a preprogrammed unique ID number which is used as a key in access control systems and many other RFID applications.
The NTAG213 NFC chip is made by NXP Semiconductors and is probably the most popular NFC Type 2 chip. It is compatible with the ISO/IEC 14443-3A standard, and has a preprogrammed 7-byte long unique ID number and a storage capacity of 144 bytes of data which is equal to a 136 character-long URL address.
The key fob housing has a very common tear shape measuring 40 x 32 x 4.5 mm and it is made from plastic material (ABS). It contains a metallic ring to attach it to keys or other accessories.
The dual frequency key fobs are available in multiple colors (blue, gray, black, green, red, orange, and yellow).
By default, they do not contain the numeration or other printed elements, but if you need customization, please let us know and we will send you an offer.
Options for customization (for pricing, please send an inquiry)
Beside the key fobs from stock, you can order customized key fobs with a housing in different color or shape, we can print on key fobs your company logo, serial number, or chip ID code.
Since the chip ID code can be read in more than 50 different ways, we take extra care that we print the code in the proper format. Many NFC devices (including NFC phones and tablets) read the chip ID as 14-digit hexadecimal number (known as 14 HEX Reverse Byte format). The 125 kHz readers usually read the ID code as the 10-digit decimal number (known as 8H-10D format).
Reading test for dual frequency key fobs
We tested our dual frequency key fobs with different kinds of readers and measured the reading distances. This is not an official test, and was made to inform you what reading distances you may expect with your application.
The reading distance between the key fob and the reader is affected by many different factors, like the size of the antennas and quality of the chips, the interferences of metal, and electromagnetic signals, etc.
