White cards with MIFARE Classic®  EV1 1K chip and a 5 mm hole are contactless smart cards equipped with a 5 mm hole, for the purpose of attaching them to lanyards or other accessories.

These cards were specially made for this purpose and normal RFID cards should not be punched as you may destroy the antenna and the cards will not work.

The MIFARE Classic® EV1 chip is a type of contactless smart card chip developed by NXP Semiconductors. It is widely used for various applications that require secure and convenient access control or data storage and it is backward compatible with previous versions of the MIFARE Classic® chip. 

The MIFARE Classic chip operates on the 13.56 MHz frequency and uses RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) technology for communication. The chip has a pre-programmed ID number and 1kB of writable memory that is divided into several sectors.
The card reading distance is usually in the range of 1 to 5 cm.
The MIFARE® card dimensions are 86 x 54 x 0.85 mm, which are standard credit card dimensions.

The cards are bright white, without numbering or other printed elements, with an upper layer that has a coating that allows subsequent printing on all types of card printers (thermal transfer or thermal retransfer printers).

When printing images for the background, we recommend using a thermal retransfer printer, as only these printers ensure flawless printing of contactless cards. You can use any desktop card printer to serialize with QR codes, barcodes or other numbering, or personalize with names.

Access Control: MIFARE Classic is frequently employed in access control systems for buildings, campuses, and public transportation. It allows users to securely authenticate themselves by simply tapping or waving their cards or devices near a compatible reader.

Payment Systems: MIFARE Classic chips are utilized in contactless payment cards and mobile payment solutions. They enable quick and secure transactions by holding financial information that can be securely exchanged with payment terminals.

Ticketing: MIFARE Classic chips are used in ticketing systems for public transportation, such as buses, trains, and subways. They store fare information and enable passengers to validate their tickets by touching the card or device to a reader.

Identification and Membership Cards: MIFARE Classic chips are employed in various identification and membership cards, including employee badges, student ID cards, and loyalty program cards. These chips store personal information and facilitate easy identification or access to specific services or privileges.
