On the outside is a knob-shaped door handle, and contains electronics with a fingerprint reader, an RFID chip reader, and a PIN entry keyboard. The principle of operation is based on the fact that registered persons can turn the hook on the outside, while others cannot.
On the inside there is also a door handle in the shape of a knob, which holds 4 AA batteries, which last with regular use approx. 6 months. The inner door handle can always be rotated and allows the exit.
Before the entire battery is used up, the door handle informs you that the batteries will soon be discharged.
The outer part has USR port for power supply in case the batteries run out and standard lock inserts also often allow you to open the hook with a key.
For installation, it is enough to remove the old door handle, drill two holes (with the included template) and replace the old door handle with a new one. The holes are located in the same place as the holes on the standard lock inserts. Through these holes come the screws that connect the outside of the smart lock to the inside. These screws also serve to power the smart hook and therefore need to be insulated with the included plastic insulators, which are cut to the required length. Two plastic isulators 35 mm long are required for a 4 cm wide door.
User setup is done via the bluetooth app and using your smartphone.
