The development kit with ACR1252U
is a great tool that will help you quickly learn the principles of operation of this popular NFC reader/writer and allow you to develop innovative NFC applications.
In addition to the ACR1252U-M1 reader, you also get a pass code to access a number of software tools and sample transponders: 5 cards with Mifare Classic 1k chip, 5 cards with ACOS3 microprocessor chip, and one SAM card for data encryption (ACOS6-SAM Secure Access Module card).

is a certified NFC reader/writer that supports PC/SC and CCID protocols and connects to a computer via a USB connection.
It can work in three ways:
- as a reader/writer:
can read the UID code of the chip, the contents of the memory, write the contents to the chip . . .
- as a card emulator:
it can act as a standard NFC medium and simulate its operation
- as a peer-to-peer device:
supports dynamic communication with other NFC devices such as mobile phones and tablets.
The ACR1252U-M1 reader operates at a frequency of 13.56 MHz and supports ISO 14443 Type A and B, MIFARE®, FeliCa, and ISO 18092 NFC media.
It is suitable for working with chips: MIFARE®, NTAG213, NTAG215, NTAG216, DESFire®, Fudan F08, FeliCa, and other NFC chips ISO/IEC 18092.
You can use it on different platforms such as Windows® CE, Windows®, Linux®, MAC OS®, Solaris, Android ™.
There are two versions of the reader:
- ACR1252U-M1, with SAM module, which provides additional security of transactions
- ACR1252U-M2, which does not contain a SAM module, but otherwise behaves the same as ACR1252U-M1.

The ACR1252U reader reads the NFC transponders really well and the reading distance for bigger transponders is up to 7.5 cm. The reader works well even with small transponders, but in this case the reading distance is shorter.
